People talk about this, but I rarely see it happen. I saw a professional YA novelist get canceled once after canceling people, but fans who cancel people just seem to keep going.

I've seen it happen to a few people in various fandoms - but they weren't exactly 'famous' in the fandom, just known for hating something they would fill a tag up on tumblr with their ranting.

There was a recent video by Eldena Doubleca5t on youtube who talked about the Hamilton fan who pretended to have HIV and being a different ethnicity to talk down people and use it as an excuse for their fanfic.
