How are you guys doing?

My eyes are DYING because I decided to make french onion soup today and the farmers market onions ARE SO STRONG GUYS. I'VE GASSED OUT THE HOUSE WITH ONIONS.

yesssss I love it

My mother is pining for the sweet release of death, but once those onions caramelize it'll all be worth it!

The weather here is too hot for soup yet you make me crave some. Complete with grilled cheese toast on top.

Swim goggles are the answer here, they really help me when I have to cut onions.

Allergies

Oh no! I hope it goes away soon, Nonnie.

On the plus side, temperature has gone back down to manageable levels, yay, I'm functioning again!
On the down side, I'm invited to a barbecue party tomorrow but it's a logistics nightmare, boo I'm not so functioning after all; I might end up not going because Urgh Too Complicated.

I'm alternating cleaning stuff and collapsing in vague nausea on the couch. Bodies are stupid.

But my dress form was finally delivered from UPS purgatory and I'm excited to set it up. And I need to clean up the yard a bit since next weekend I'm gonna get boards for raised beds.

Finishing up The Umbrella Academy. Well, getting at least two more episodes in. Finished the body of my sister's monster. Poor thing can't hold its own head up. :(

My parents came by a couple hours ago to drop off some stuff they had for me and my mom got kind of annoyed with me because I didn't want to stand at the door and talk to her. She was like "but I'm wearing a mask, what's the problem?" Yeah, masks are for when you can't avoid close contact and it's necessary. Standing at the door to talk about dumb stuff we could just as easily talk about on the phone is not necessary. She also didn't understand because she and my dad were just tested (and are negative), but I don't know that I'M negative and asymptomatic spread is a thing, and I refuse to be the reason my parents get sick or die. I'm concerned about her health, and she just acts like I'm overreacting or being paranoid. It's frustrating.

Also, I'm hungry but don't feel like cooking so I'm thinking of just making ramen. :P

I just finished a dinner of orrechiete pasta with peas in tomato sauce with four little garlic pieces thrown in my bowl, am now enjoying a cool glass of Coke, and watching Poltergeist (1982). Will try to read more of this C.S. Lewis book called The Reading Life later.

Resting mostly. Slept in, played with my kitty, watched a few episodes of ATLA, then took a nap. Feel better than I have in a while. Really needed the sleep.

My uterus hurts but I'm not too mad about it since I've spent the last couple months stressing my period into near nothingness - which just stresses me more. So, the more normal this feels for me (and normal for me is generally unpleasant) the less I stress over it.

I need to manage my anxiety better, is what I'm getting out of this.

Not bad. I got some yummy boba and watched some anime.

Watching Taboo with Tom Hardy. Really nice production values and stage settings.

I am full of suppressed emotion, because my brother just told me that he and his wife are officially Expecting, but of course I can't talk to anyone about it until they've made all the phone calls and announcements they want to. I completely respect this! They get first dibs on all announcements about their lives! But I'm just so fucking excited and I really want to talk about it!!!

I'm very excited! I'm also really worried for my sister-in-law's health, because she lives in a covid hotspot and has a history of getting so anxious shd makes herself sick.
But oh my god, two of my favourite people are making a third person! New baby in the family! I wanna knit all the things, but I'm still having trouble with perl!

Made myself chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Then I did some yard work: weeding, cleaning the garage gutters, trimming the branches by the back gate. I also completed sewing a mask I had cut out last night. Ran an errand (wearing an older mask). Streamed an episode of classic Hawaii Five-O that was essentially a Scooby Doo plot, lol. Now im making spring rolls while watching Great British Baking Show.
