101. I've always felt that too. My father and I used to play Hot Shots Golf together on PS2 and I'd always want to go off and explore the stuff that was outside of the fairway.

139. I can't see him without thinking of his character in Garden State. :P

143. She isn't my favorite, but I do like her very much. My favorite is Taub... I get tired of being told that he's boring.

149. That miniseries (and the friends I met through it, who I no longer know unfortunately) helped me get through my first two years out of high school. :)

167. I have no rape fantasies and have actually been raped twice, but I agree with this secret so hard. Some of the complaints I see irritate the hell out of me.

174. Totally out of curiosity, when were those days? The first fic I ever read was romance (and slash to boot) and that was ten years ago. I'm just curious about how far back we're talking here.

174: I've been reading for thirteen years and remember people were bitching about women and their icky romance back then. Apparently women have been ruining fandom for over a decade.

LOL they've been ruining it since Kirk/Spock.

They've probably been ruining it ever since they started wanting to write sci-fi and horror and participate in conventions. Silly girls!

With the exception of video game fandom, every fandom I've seen has been predominantly women... at least for the twelve years or so that I've been involved.

I figured the time the OP was referencing did not exist. :P

Never. Fanfiction, as far as I've seen, has ALWAYS been predominantly about romance.
