173. I have this magical urge to pair Shuichi with a girl. ._. What worries me even more is that I'm in the middle of a crackfic that would allow a brief mention of such a thing, but it's a Christmas gift and I'm pretty sure I don't want to make a gift into wankfodder.

Hmmmm. Then again, I tend to go with the bisexual assumption, which gets me into trouble. ^^;

I think Persephone would be a lot harder, what with the whole plot of Hades kidnapping her to rape her and make her his queen. On the one hand, you might have a sympathetic Hades, because here's this guy stuck in the Underworld all the time, no company, no half-god whelps running around like big bros Zeus and Poseidon... But more likely, he's a bad guy. He thought Persephone was pretty and shiny and so he kidnapped her. So... who's the hero? Woeful Demeter, who can't do anything except freeze the Earth until Persephone returns? Persephone, who stupidly eats the pomegranate seeds even though she knows she shouldn't?

But of course, Disney is great at turning myths on their heads, so they're more than welcome to introduce a hero-character that wasn't there, make Hades Persephone's evil-but-well-meaning uncle (rather than would-be rapist), and make Demeter butt-kicking in spite of her supposed helplessness.

Well, Disney already managed to turn at least one rapist into a hero in Sleeping Beauty (my all time Disney favorite, I admit). I can easily see Persephone turning into a love story with Demeter as the classic wicked mother villainess who wants to keep her daughter trapped. Or maybe the kidnapping was an accident lol. She hid in the chariot for some reason, and when Hades realizes she's there Demeter's already started raging. Who wants to face that? Zeus can be the villain, since he is her father. It would be easy to turn him into the wicked king, all thinks considered.

Of course, this is Disney, and they've already done a Hades-villain, so it wouldn't shock me if they did it again. *sigh* He could be such an awesome, sad hero too.
