My guess was X-Files

DA

Mine was too, but then I realized that Mulder/Krycek was a huge thing (or at least I'm pretty sure it was) so now idk.

DA - Mulder/Krycek was a thing, but not really a huge one, IMO. I'd guess there was maybe 5-10% as much M/K fic as there was MSR fic. TXF fandom was big, so even a small percentage of the overall fic was still a fair amount of fic, though.

ayrt

Ah, ok. It was before my time (I mean, I did eventually watch the show, but not until way later) so I was just going on what I remembered people talking about after the fact.

I feel like 5-10% is still a decent chunk, though, so I wouldn't think in that case that someone would say het was "far and away the only ship in the fandom" like it says in the secret. I might be overthinking it, though, I don't know.

No, you're right. I'm pretty sure there were some people who were in the fandom specifically for the M/K fic, and there was apparently enough content for them to feel it was worth their while.

I don't really think OP was talking about The X-Files either. There wasn't really that much Mulder/OFC fic, for one thing. I mean, there was some. But not very much. Also, I don't personally remember a lot of warnings for slash. Then again, I was strictly into MSR, and read barely any M/K, so I might not be aware of it even if people were warning for slash all over the place.

I was totally into that fandom for MSR, but I didn't mind Skinner/Scully either. Bit of a weirdo, me.

Is Mulder/OFC a thing?

(Anonymous) 2020-08-07 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Mulder/OFAC (Original Female Alien Character)

(Anonymous) 2020-08-07 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
No, very much not. There was a fair bit of fic where Scully was written in a really generic way and was the stand-in for the reader/writer, but to my memory, very little Mulder/OFC.
