both the book and the fanbase are awful. I once left an unfavorable review, and one of the authors complained about it on her blog, quoting me and everything, and the fans were immediately up in arms against me. It was ridiculous.
I'd avoid everything they write

That doesn't really surprise me. Going by the interview I read with one of the authors (Abigail Roux, I'm not sure if she's the one you're talking about or not), she just really rubbed me the wrong way. She said that someone accused her of introducing a certain character as a lazy plot device and how "nasty" that was and how insulted she was, which just made me roll my eyes. (And she talks about how amazing the covers are, which makes her even more questionable to me, although I know that's kind of petty compared to everything else.) IDK, I just got a kind of overall...entitled/pretentious? vibe from her, at least based on that interview. I'm definitely not planning on reading anything else she's written.
