The unexpectedness and OTT-ness of her shooting at him, and then the parting quip, are very much still coming off as a humor to me. I don't think it needs any set-up to be a joke. I think the lack of set-up is what makes it a joke. The "funny" is in the fact that she bloody shoots at him, unexpectedly, to test his shield, because she's mad. It's the shocking directness of it that's the gag, IMO.

I think it's meant to be amusing and punchy funny, not hahaha that's hilarious funny.

I guess we'll just have to disagree on this one. :)
