The Lord of the Rings trilogy is another example - there's a very few scenes (mostly involving fast movement and Legolas) where things don't look right, but almost all of it is highly convincing. Compare those movies to The Hobbit, where there's a lot more CGI, and the first trilogy comes off a lot better despite being older.
