yeah i can agree tbh. i normally hate love-triangles because of the reasons you've listed: one super special girl, the asshole that no sane person should pick but she will because his looks somehow make-up for his awful personality, and the other dude(usually nerdy) who won't be picked and who probably gets a consolation gf at the end to make it better.

it's just so lazy and boring that it's made me have a strong 'NO' reaction to the existence of them in any media, but i won't say that i wouldn't enjoy a different and less dull take on the trope.

Speaking personally, I have never doubted your sincerity, I just think your reading of the movie is totally wrongheaded, and reflects a bad understanding of the duty of care that a nurse has for patients under her supervision, and a staggeringly callous disregard for the harm caused to the mental health patients under her care.

And I refuse to care what Ryan Murphy's crazy ass has to say about the topic.

I hate them too, and with a burning passion.

Someone was talking to me awhile back that they heard there was a possible sequel to Yu Yu Hakusho in development but starring Yusuke and Keiko's kid and I instantly developed a migraine right then and there. Thankfully that rumor has been debunked but yeah, the last thing anyone in the YYH fandom cares about is their hypothetical kid.

For me, going full throttle Orphan on AO3 and disabling the comments altogether was one of the best things I've ever done for my creativity. Not having to worry about any potential drama saved my sanity and I get to be as ridiculous as I want with kinks and bizarre plot devices.

Hope your mental health improves, OP. It's been a really difficult couple of years all around but hopefully we'll all pull through.
