Well...it does come from Star Trek V: Final Frontier.

Sybok is supposed to be the son of a Vulcan princess and Sarek, making him Spock's half brother.

It's never actually said they were married.

It's been suggested that Sybok was such a powerful telepath that he imprinted the idea that he was Spock's brother when in reality he wasn't.

Wow, I haven't seen that movie in ages; if that's the "Let Slip the dog of war" one, all I recall is slo-mo shots of purple Klingon blood.

You're thinking of the sixth movie, which is great. Christopher Plumber as a bald, Shakespeare-spouting Klingon general is the best thing ever.

Symbol was from the fifth movie where they go to find God and Uhura does a fan dance.

Sarek's third wife, Perri,is from an episode of TNG called "Sarek". It seems to be a very loving and sweet marriage. (Sarek obv has a thing for humans.)

The more I her about Sarek, the less he seems like a typical Vulcan.
(I wonder what came first -- being an ambassador, or some insight/appreciation of humans?)
