I don't necessarily mind racebent white characters but in anime fandoms especially I hate when people racebend the already Japanese characters. They're already POC, you don't need to take away their current ethnicity just because you've decided this Japanese show set in Japan about Japanese characters needs more black and hispanic people.

This bothers me so much. The first thing people need to realize about racism is that making it apparent as possible is part of the problem. Racebending already existing characters is most always a problem because, much like you said, erasing an existing race simply because it isn't prevalent enough is bullshit.

9/10 racebending is much more racist than just leaving the characters as they are, because all in all race doesn't matter, people are people- but when certain individuals make it a point to change a characters race, it's often just so they can lecture their audience about such things, and, retroactively enforcing racist ideals in itself.
