30 bucks and you don't even have the big screen's experience? like you're paying the full price for a DVD you can only watch, what is it on this service, once? as many times you can fit in 48 hours then it's gone? or is it yours to rewatch as long as you pay your monthly fee on tope of that? Any way it does look like a scam.

On top of being paywalled behind a service people already pay for, it's potentially a $30 rental. For that price, I hope people will have access to it for at least a month.

This is a thing I've never understood with Audible. It seems I have to pay to be a member and then pay for every book I want to listen to. Have I misunderstood?

(Anonymous) 2020-08-13 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe? I'm an audible member and it comes with credits, so your membership fee pays for either 12 or 24 books depending on which membership you have. audible isn't a streaming service like netflix, you own the books you buy, at least to the extent that you own anything digital provided by Amazon.

The 24-book membership works out to around $9.50 per book.

Yours to rewatch as long as your Disney+ subscription is active. It's not a terrible deal for families, especially if they have one or more Mulan-obsessed children who can watch the film ad nauseum, but it's very bad for one or two person households.

Or Disney doesn't decide to just screw you over somehow.

nayrt but exactly. Disney could decide to stream it for a limited time only, they could remove it from their offerings any time they chose, etc. So yeah, it's $30 to rent it.

it's godawful please raise your standards

What if you cancel/suspend/whatever your subscription and then re-open it later? Would you still have it?

"If you cancel your subscription but reactivate Disney Plus later (in time for a new season of The Mandalorian or WandaVision), Mulan should be in your library, but The Verge has reached out to Disney for confirmation."
