SA - again

I mean, a lot of Johnlock fics had this dynamic. It’s been years since I read them, though, so I’m having a hard time picking out specific recs in my mind.

I definitely remember The Paradox Series by Wordstrings being extremely well written and having a very codependent John/Sherlock relationship (it was pretty fucked up in places, but still ultimately very loving).

Agh, I’ve read so many fics that give me this dynamic over the years, but trying to actually think of them when asked is not working for me. :/

AYRT Thanks for trying nonny :) I'll check out the Johnlock fic.

Old school Stars and Hutch fic used to have that dynamic a lot, and MFU fic too. Unfortunately the best stuff is lost to us now, otherwise I'd offer you recs if you were interested.

Ah, the woes of old fandoms; that's too bad. I never read any S&H, but it's definitely one of the granddaddies.

Searching the "post reichenbach" tag and then filtering by kudos is probably also a decent way of finding fics, if you're into the whole, "they're grieving so hard it's eating them up, and not moving on when everybody tells them they should" trope. I know I read a ton of fics like that, it's just thinking of which ones were particularly strong exemplars is totally eluding me.

Starsky and Hutch were codependent even in the TV show itself. I adored the 'centre of each other's universes' theme you got in fic. It's too bad the really good stuff is gone, although it's all probably quite dated now.

Thank you for the tip! That is another trope I adore. <3
