Tbh I didn't like Lover much at all? I honestly found it her most forgettable album in ages. (On the flip side, I love Folklore and have been listening to it constantly.)

Secret OP, and I do have to admit, I actually liked reputation better than Lover. It was weird, but it was fun!

I'm the opposite. I liked Lover quite a lot (I actually enjoy listening to Lover more than I enjoy listening to 1989), whereas I'm kind of ambivalent about Folklore. I'm super happy it's getting so much praise and love from everyone, I totally want that for Taylor, I am a stan. But my personal feelings about the album are more complicated.

It's weird because I love indie and folk music way, way more than I love pop. But I feel like Tay writes phenomenal pop songs and only decent indie/folk songs. *shrugs*

Personally, I find all the prize for Folklore a bit baffling, because everything she does on the album other people do better (as in other indie folk songwriters).

I feel like her whole thought process behind Folklore was, "The kids loved it when I collab'd with The Civil Wars, let's do a whole album of that." I love Swift's music just fine, but I'm not really here for "indie" sounds from decidedly non-indie artists.
