XV fandom does this with Luna a bunch and it baffles me. It's one of the only fandoms I've ever been involved with that people are damn progressive when it comes to pairings and then they go and smoosh Luna with either Crowe, Aranea or hilariously Cindy.

And it's glaringly obvious when it's a pair the spare situation because she's always mentioned as being the most wonderful Queen/Oracle in Tenabrae and rules wisely with her devoted queensguard by her side now let's get back to the guy's fucking each other like pornstars.

I get the appeal of a 'nobody dies' situation but sometimes it's better to just write your lazyass porn fic without feeling the need to vaguely allude to the spare who is offscreen but it's ok guys, the wedding was canceled and she's also getting fucked but it's the pure, lesbian version of being fucked. Which will never be written about because it was a token gesture.

To be fair, Luna had just about as little contact/chemistry/interaction with her alleged main love interest so I can't blame people for pairing her off otherwise. I'll take the token "Luna is a lesbian" over that insanely bland LuNoct "romance" that we constantly get told about but which isn't actually present at all any day.

Cracks me up that Square insisted on pushing a romance for them and then proceeded to have their leading man is so incredibly disinterested in talking about her and the upcoming wedding lmao.

Gods, Noctis had more chemistry with Terra in the dlc add-on meanwhile ya boi Nyx absolutely stole the show with Luna in Kingsglaive.
