I find that most fic written by authors whose first language isn't english are some of the best fics I've read, tbh.
Depending on how new they are to the language, there can be a significantly higher grasp on grammar and inflection within their writing style compared to some authors who grew up with the english language boiled into them.

Whenever I see a note saying english isn't their first, (or even fourth) language, I honestly get a little bit excited about it. Every language has their own unique nuances and processes. Oftentimes, there simply isn't a word to word translation from one language to another, especially when it comes to english. So I generally find the narrative from a non native speaker to be much more fascinating at times due to the distinction and purpose they have when choosing their words.

Honest thanks for this comment from an ESL fic author! Makes me feel much more confident in my abilities tbh :D
