I love Bashir, but I definitely agree with this.

Yeah. I hated the Section 31 arc mostly for doing Julian (one of my favourite characters on the series) so wrong. (That I found his S31 contact so insufferable didn't help, but I could have dealt with him if it wasn't doing Bashir dirty.)

I don't hate Bashir or anything but I think he's boring. I think some of the writers might have agreed because they always made the most weird and crazy things happen to him verse him being the one to generate the stories he was the center of, the Section 31 plot very much included.

I was always pretty meh on Bashir. He was okay. He was best when he was paired with Garak or O'Brian. He played well off them.

I like Bashir a lot (well, after the first season or so). The Section 31 stuff was just plain crappy.

As long as they were going to have Bashir be the one interacting with Section 31, they really missed a beat by not bringing Garak along for the ride.
