(Anonymous) 2020-08-24 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
How do you do it,?

I've only ever had PDF versions of textbooks on my Kindle fire and I use the PDF app. But I would like to know how to use the actual Kindle app to access fic/read it/ omg will this appear on my queue oh no someone will see things they don't need to see!

Any advice? Thanks!

Ao3 has download links for mobi (Kindle compatible) or epub (most other). Download the ebook, and import it to the reader app. Usually sideloaded files are not uploaded.

On both my older Kindle and the newer one I got a couple of months ago, I just usually read on the AO3 site on the Silk browser, but I have a few downloaded for if I'm offline. On my older one, I think I used MOBI, but for the new one, that didn't really work, so I tried EPUB and AZW3, but those didn't work, so I ended up with PDF, which works. At the top of a fic on AO3, there is a 'Download' button - if you click, there is a choice of AZW3, EPUB, MOBI, PDF, and HTML. Try it with a fic and see what works best for you.
