My own stupidity in mincing a serrano chili barehanded, assuming because I washed my hands really well and felt nothing amiss that I'd gotten all the capsaicin off them, and then finding out in the middle of my nice hot shower that I had not, in fact, removed all the capsaicin, and somehow managed to get it on my face, belly, and legs. Ow ow ow.

Ouch. Have done this before and can confirm as a contact lens wearer, deeply unpleasant. I now employ baking soda once or twice in addition to soap. Maybe even a fingernail brush.
