NAYRT - This seems like a weirdly strict line to draw, IMO. Most people ARE going to speculate about celebrities. They just are. It seems really holier-than-thou to act like it's improper.

Dude, read every replies above and you'll get your answer. Actors are not the characters they play, the are not fictional toys to force ones opinion on. Celebrities are allowed their privacy in every regard, especially when it comes to sexuality. The constant harassment they get from paparazzi does not mean it's fair game to brainstorm as to if they're really committed to their partner or if this is some conspiracy/beard situation.

It's okay to think that maybe they might be queer to yourself, but broadcasting that opinion is wrong. The same way you might consider a neighbour of yours to be bi- you might gossip with the rest of the pseudo-housewives, but all that does is relay back to the old grade school bully system; where you think something is going on/or just want to start drama and put your nose where it doesn't belong.
The only different between the two situations is that at least you know your neighbour, you've met them, interacted on a regular basis.
You do not have the right to make that same sort of call with a celebrity because most of what is written about them is intentionally inflammatory, meant to play off a readers wants and whims. It's as fictional as the roles the actors play themselves because scandal is the best was to get attention and sell columns.

Celebrities are people and the things that are rude to do to other people are also rude to do to celebrities. Most people understand that gossiping about people’s sex lives is rude and do it anyway. It’s weird to pretend that it’s proper to do it to celebrities.

Lots of people hit on the servers at restaurants. They always have. Some restaurants encourage it as part of their business model. Some servers play along with it in order to get better tips. Depending on the circumstances, it’s not creepy, especially compared to touching your server without permission or waiting in the parking lot for them to get off shift. It is still not polite to hit on your server.
