A lot of the 'wholesome validation vibes' being put out online feel disingenuous and at times outright phony but I guess if it helps anyone then they served their touted purpose. Sometimes I wonder if it does more harm then good for certain types of people though, occasionally reading as if 'we're all just fine as we are, whoever and whatever we are', and... no. A lot of us are not fine as we currently are and should be encouraged and helped to better ourselves.

+1

I'm not engaged with fandom in this way, so I don't exactly know what OP is referring to, but I do know that on my socials there's a lot of validating material and there's also here's how to better yourself etc. some if it done through self-deprecating memes.

I think of course, there's always going to be a question of moderation. I don't follow many accounts (mainly people I know and a few singers that tend to never post) so I don't have to see those things in my feeds, but I do see things from time to time. And sometimes the validation isn't what I need, I need the -- "do better, bbgirl" And then sometimes I need the "Love yourself bb". Sometimes I need them both lol.

I do think there is an over-saturation of the content from time to time, and quite often the creators and consumers can burn themselves out. Moderation.
