It is exactly the type of horror movie that works for me. I prefer more subtle horror to blunt, over-the-top violence. Violence in a movie should always serve a purpose, not just be there for the sake of violence, and that to me includes horror movies.

Agreed. It messes with you. It is disturbing in a good way and you end the movie unsettled but also having enjoyed it.
