I try not to be hung up on American English versus British English, but if you're writing a crossover between The Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter, two of the most British canons to ever canon, could you perhaps, just maybe, not use 'mom'?

I judge this but then realised I would use "mum" even if I was writing in an american fandom. To them I'm probably no better. Ah well.
