Normally I wouldn't bother replying to a secret so late in the day, but seriously?

FUCK YOU.

I've been the friend who gets left behind for drugs and dumb shit and guess what? It's not cool, it HURTS AND IT FUCKS YOU UP. Saying you'd gladly give up your existing friends? I fucking hope they leave you first. Taking people for granted is not ofuckingkay and calling them boring is the stupidest, most selfish shit ever.

I would hazard to guess that you have missed the point.

The point? I don't fucking care. Someone says they'd gladly give up their friends to go smoke pot and steal shit, because their current friends are boring? No. Bad friends? Sure. Unfaithful or unloyal? Yeah, fine. But boring?

Yeah, you get effectively replaced and forgotten by someone you wholly trusted and then tell me you missed the fucking point.

I'd have to guess the OP probably means just... people they hang out with by default, as opposed to REAL friends. Acquaintence-friends. Social-group friends. Enough-common-interests-and-compatible-personalities-to-make-their-company-better-than-staying-home-and-fapping-like-a-loser friends.

Have you actually seen that show? Because there's a lot more to that whole thing than just the vague description on the secret.

They're suggesting replacing everybody. That includes real friends. But anyway, yeah, I may just be overreacting because it is a really sensitive subject for me, but I don't think anyone, acquaintance or not, should be treated as disposable or a placeholder until something better comes along.

I have, and I know there is, but at the same time I know there was a lot more to the people I was replaced with and abandoned for, and it doesn't make it any more acceptable.

I don't read it that way. But it is possible the OP just doesn't HAVE closer-than-acquaintence friends. And REAL friends, by my definition, are not people one would ever describe as boring in that kind of offhanded manner or want to replace.

I do agree that people shouldn't be treated as disposable or placeholders, when they're people with whom you have some bond other than convenience. I've been ditched by people like that, too, over a certain kerfluffle I'd rather not discuss on a public forum. I just don't think the OP was talking about anything that fuckwaddy. It seems to me like there's an implication that the OP's present friends would not especially miss him/her much. Mine sure as hell didn't, except for one, and he found me again. Real friends don't let you go that easily.
