Tw: suicide

(Anonymous) 2020-09-07 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I am now on my 6th month of post-covid complications and now BAM. New possibly terrifying new neurologicall symptoms.

I am so done. If I didn't have responsibilities on this plane of existence then tonight I would be checking out permanently.

So sorry, nonny. I really hope those symptoms don't last too long for you and that things start to get better.

Hi anon, I am someone who lives with a disability partially caused by post-viral complications (not from COVID but something different) and it's a scary thing to be going through alone. Please connect with others. The doctors are often not up to date on the latest research because medicine is a constantly evolving field. It really helps to be part of a support network so you can stay educated and find the best resources. Having people who understood what I was dealing with really helped my mental health too. Other people would constantly say I just needed exercise/vitamins/whatever and I would get better. They completely dismissed everything I said as overdramatic, but it felt like my body was going to war with itself every single day and every new symptom was horrible and frightening.

I don't know much about the COVID support groups but there are some mentioned in this article:
https://www.vox.com/2020/5/21/21264946/coronavirus-survivors-stories-symptoms-tips

I hope that you do get answers and find a supportive healthcare team, but in the meantime don't be alone with this.

Damn, that's awful. I really hope you're able to find the help you need going forward to tackle all of this, and new treatments and such will be available as soon as possible to try and help with these issues as well.

Sending along positive thoughts and comfort to you. I hope things get better for you.
