My only notion is that "your culture isn't yours". You cannot really steal from cultures that have stolen their contents too. That's the whole point. Cultures don't exist in a vacuum and stay the same and they shouldn't. What dies dies and that's it. There's no pure culture. So, this talk about cultural appropriation is stupid, since it actually doesn't have anything to do it with culture. It's all about power and nothing else. By denying my culture from you, I use my power to suppress you. Now the suppressed have become the suppressor.

Mostly I dislike the idea of appreciation when it comes to cultures. It's not a value by itself. You need to earn it. It isn't born from nothingness. Just because you appreciate something doesn't mean I need to too. With you there can be a connection (like you were born into it), but for others? Nothing. Values? Please keep them to yourself.

What in the actual fuck are you talking about?

An oppressed culture trying to save their dying mythology from the ever-grasping hands of their oppressors is not "the suppressed becoming the suppressor".

And "what dies dies" is fucking rich when we're discussing a STILL-LIVING CULTURE that is surviving DESPITE literally 500 years of violence specifically geared toward wiping them out.
