Meetings meetings meetings meetings all day. And I'm dead tired, especially since I woke up early (bc timezones) for a meeting that I didn't realize had been moved later in the day.

Fine other than that

worked all day, took a bus, a train, a flight, and another bus to my mom's house. she insisted I talk to her on the phone for the five minute walk from the bus stop to her house and stood in the window looking for me. now i'm finally in bed!

Now I learned there was a gang rape a block away this Saturday and the suspects have not been caught. 😥

Internally debating over how my need for connection might be interpreted by others. It's like, wow, my self-esteem has been beaten down so low that I apologize to people for daring to talk or message once a week, as if once is way too much. Once used to be nothing at all but now it feels like some great burden I'm asking of others. Also bumming over how me giving a present to someone is now apparently such a big deal. Growing up, everyone gave presents all the time, but as an adult it's so much rarer and the people in my life are always blown away by even the smallest token of appreciation. I love making them happy but it's just super surreal to me how they act - as if it's been an eternity since anyone last gave them anything. IDK, it just bothers me on a primal level.

I went for a run this morning. It's cooled off considerably outside, but the air quality is still shit so I didn't run as long as I would've liked. Getting ready to watch NFL. My husband bought half a salmon and he's baking it for dinner tonight with lemon and dill, and I'm making green beans and Yukon gold mashed potatoes for a side dish.

Had a migraine since yesterday. Left work at 3 because it got so bad I couldn't handle the bright lights anymore. Means I have to take half hour lunches for the rest of the week. I'm now dosed up on pills and have my head covered in ice. Still not feeling great, but a bit better.

I watched Mulan thanks to my awesome friend who sent me his login. I was very disappointed by it.

I have no intention of ever watching anything with Gong Li in it ever again.

Is she the one who spoke out in favour of the police brutality in HK?

I never heard about that. I just think she's a terrible actress of the Stare Blankly And Never Show Any Emotion Whatsoever school. If she spoke out in favor of police brutality that's another reason she can fuck off.

Nah, that was the actress who played Mulan. Gong Li played another character.

Still working from home, and I had several calls from my boss today about various crises I needed to help with, but other than that, I've just been hanging around the house. Read some, watched some TV, played some games, looked at stuff online...pretty much my normal life nowadays.

I need to do some cleaning, and I'm debating baking a cake/brownies (or maybe cookies) later tonight. There are so many things I've wanted to bake since quarantine but haven't really felt like it, so I don't know.

Been working all day. Then had my nephew over so we could play Minecraft together. Now I am going to make some quesadillas for dinner.

I've had my Ritalin dosage increased and I'm seeing how I feel. At the moment... vaguely anxious, very... buzzy? Lots of energy, not much direction. It's definitely doing something, but whether it's what I want, I'm not sure yet.

I got talked into adopting a kitty! I'm supposed to get him later this week, tomorrow we're going shopping for new things for him.

Hooray :)! Hope all goes well in bringing him home and he settles in okay.
