I have an iphone and an ipod myself and I like it that way. Even if I could get an iphone with more memory or buy memory cards, it's much easier to keep my ton of music on my ol' reliable 160 GB ipod classic than have to fuss with how much storage space I have left on my phone and can I fit my music and my apps and my photos and do I need to buy more space etc etc. And being able to use both independently is more than worth it (especially now that I'm working from home, I found an old CD player that I could plug my ipod into and put my instrumental playlist on while I work, I can still check my phone or play apps in my downtime while I do it and it's easier to reach over and just hit pause on the ipod if I suddenly need to answer a skype call rather than having to scramble away from whatever I might be checking on my phone to turn the music off).
