So if we can't be perfectly moral, we should throw out all moral values entirely?

Well, not to be contrarian but arguably yes. However that's merely because morals in and of themselves can be used for evil, depending on various matters and modes of context. Morals are great for large groups of people but do not necessarily work on an individual scale. At the end of the day, pretty much any and all concerns related to 'morality' is a philosophical deadend. What one person 'should' do may or may not be what someone else 'should' do.
