What does RBG's death have to do with young people not voting?

In case you're serious, Donald Trump won the 2016 election by a razor-thin margin. People between the ages of 18-25 are one of the most liberal demographics and also the one with the lowest voter turnout. The US has a 2-party voting system, and one party skews more to the left than the other. Had young people shown up and actually voted for the candidate for that party, instead of blowing off voting altogether or voting for a dead gorilla, Donald Trump would not be in the position to cram another far-right justice into the Supreme Court to replace RBG. The jackass he appoints will most likely make the last jackass he appointed, a drunken rapist with an anger management problem, look like a standup guy who totally cares about the lives of anyone other than rich white men. Supreme Court Justices are appointed for life. Thus, young people not voting have ensured that we get another Trump appointee on the Supreme Court, skewing the Court far right for the next 40 years or so. Great news if you think Liberals Stealing Your Guns and The War On Christmas are the most important problems facing the nation. Not so great news for normal people.

Yes, it's unfortunate enough folks didn't vote against Donald Trump in 2016, and we wouldn't be in the mess of a dying democracy. But it isn't just young people, it was people of all ages who didn't vote Hillary, whether it was a "I can't be bothered" non-vote, a hopeless Harambe/MJ/cartoon character/etc vote, a "fuck you Hillary" vote for Trump, an "at least he isn't like a politician" vote, or a "making a statement" vote for 3rd party (which NEVER, EVER WORKS especially if you aren't also voting in every election great or small). And also the fucking GOP for not doing enough to keep Donald Trump off the ballot... oh, and Republican voters for not voting more for candidates who aren't retarded. Don't put it all on one group, because if you really want to get technical about it, only the people who turned out to vote for Hillary are truly blameless. This is a mess we are ALL responsible for, and we need to do better as a nation.
