It's really not uncommon for girls of a certain age to have like, proto-crushes? On older brothers. And when they haven't been raised together it's even more likely because she's not really going to see him as a brother, not really.
I dunno - I'd just try and chill out, honestly. They're not gonna kiss or anything, so why does it matter?

I'll be a contrarian and be sympathetic to you because I know stories can be weird about any opposite gender pair of characters interacting with each other. ANY. I wouldn't put it past modern day writers to mess up a basic familial/platonic relationship.
