Yoooo! Same, same! Early YGO fandom was and remains my idea of what fandom should be all about: raw creativity and unabashed horniness. It was a fantastic time both for fandom and the internet in general.

I think its also the reason why I feel baffled whenever folks lose their shit over 'controversial' fics on AO3 - I'm pretty sure their brains would melt at the half of the fics that were posted back in the day (lol I can already see the discourse for Yami/Yugi - The age difference! It technically being self-cest! The fact that a teenage Yugi is straight up wearing leather bondage gear to school under his uniform and looking a lot younger than other people his age - the drama!)
