Op here, and I have the bad habit of automatically dismissing my own opinions because I don't expect anyone else to find them interesting.
I am really glad to see people agree with me, though ♥

Never feel bad for being interested in this stuff. I'm saying this as someone with two history degrees and a career in the UK/Scottish heritage sector - so I'm very much of the opinion that we need more people like you who are unashamedly interested!

Anne operated in the world she was in, and was subject to the whims of more than just Henry. She was used for the ambitions of her family overall and it's really unfair that she gets all the blame for how everything went down while everyone else involved is kinda swept to one side. That even allegedly progressive portrayals paint her as conniving is a little disappointing.

It's one of the hangovers from a childhood with autism - "Stop telling everyone about [thing you're passionate about], it's boring and no one cares, why can't you tell?"

But I'm grown up and on the internet and I've found there are a LOT of people who are just as intensely passionate about history as I am and I love it.

I don't have autism and have been told the exact same thing at point in my life so to you anon I would say - fuck the haters. I would sit and talk with you for hours any day of the week over anyone who thinks history isn't worth talking about.

People who are enthusiastic and passionate about their interests are cool :D. And having a genuine love for and interest in history is not only cool, it's also very important and beneficial to society as a whole.

So yeah, go on as often as you want about all this various historical stuff, I say! If someone doesn't care, well, they can just go do something else, then. There's plenty of other people who would be happy to have these kinds of conversations with you :).
