Re: Controversial Unpopular Opinions?
(Anonymous) 2020-09-19 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)The whole concept of "I like child porn but I'm not ACTUALLY sexually interested in children" is just so fucking ridiculous to me.
Re: Controversial Unpopular Opinions?
(Anonymous) 2020-09-19 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)Fictional underage specifically is a tricky one, because the taboo is so intense that in some cases, the intensity of the taboo itself may be what the kink is for some people. Not the nature of the taboo, but just that fact that it is taboo, and that it is very, very taboo.
Also, I think sexual naivety is a pretty huge kink/kink cluster for a lot of people, and often I suspect that's what people are kinking on with fictional underage. Not the idea of being with a sexually naive partner, but just the idea of sexual naivety itself.
And of course there's plenty of people who straight up imagine themselves in the role of the underage character.
"I like child porn but I'm not ACTUALLY sexually interested in children" is just so fucking ridiculous to me.
1. Nobody is talking about child porn. People are talking about fictional representations of underage characters. If you won't recognize the validity of that distinction, we can't have this conversation.
2. As stated above, just because a piece of fanfic or fanart involves an underage character, doesn't mean the appeal, for the creator or the audience, is the thought of them engaging sexually with the underage character.
Once more for the people in the back: "What we kink on when we kink on [thing]" is a more complex question than we often give it credit for.
