I fucking hate that Philippa Gregory thinks she's a real historian! There was this Anne Boleyn special that had actual real Tudor historians like David Starky and Suzannah Lipscomb there but so was Philippa Gregory! It's like what, why is this bitch here? Her books are historical fan fiction, and that's fine. That has a place in pop culture and maybe even historical discourse but so much of what she thinks about historical figures is just flat out wrong. It's like an anti-vaxer being a doctor. No.

SO glad someone else shares my opinion of Philippa Gregory. It's not that she's a bad writer, per se, but her Tudor books take enormous liberties and it's disingenuous of her at best to pretend like she doesn't. She's not a historian, she based The Other Boleyn Girl off a garbage biography full of speculation and she thinks she's a historian when she's not. Ridiculous.
