Could be the reverse to be fair. Maybe ace people are drawn to smut because it lets them vicariously enjoy attraction that they don't feel toward other people in real life.

I've heard multiple asexual people say that about fic, mentioning the vicarious part specifically. Consider that not all asexuals want to be asexual; some of them wish they could experience the kind of attraction that one character has to another, to other people, but can't.

That last bit is me. I'd love to be able to be attracted to other people and be able to reciprocate sexual attraction others have had for me.
