I think lockdown has encouraged a new wave of fic writers. Unfortunately they're not very good yet.

I've seen some big bangs this year that have had very strict vetting during the sign ups.
Criteria like must have so many fics/words written. Must be able to prove that you can work to a deadline. Must be able to be available for check-ins. And i thought that the finished fics would be really high quality because they seemed really well organized.

It... it wasn't what i expected.
