I don't necessarily write better at night, but I definitely write more because there are less distractions and my sleep-deprived brain is less likely to let my inner editor out. Most of my best writing is done at night, but I also have to edit out good chunks of it because it doesn't make sense. And my characters are also perpetually tired.

The only time I write nowadays is when I should be sleeping. Sometimes I forget I wrote at all and have a random five paragraphs of fic waiting for me when I wake up. It's some of my best writing I have to say.

I've only written at night once; woke up at 3 am and got the thing down in toto at once. it was the porniest thing I've ever done. I should perhaps try it again but waking up at 3am? Nah.
