How did you like The Mist by Stephen King, OP? If you read it, of course.

Does it have to be mist? Will you accept fog? (TIL there is an actual meteorological distinction.)

Wondering this too - because one of the first things I thought was the children’s fantasy book Fog Magic. I think where I grew up it was technically mist, not fog, so I pretended it was about mist as well.

I prefer fog, but mist is good too. Gives it that spooky vibe.

if you haven't watched black spot/zone blanche on netflix, i would suggest it. mystery show set in a tiny french town surrounded by forests filled with strange things and a ton of lovely fog filled landscape shots.

That show's beautiful.

Alan Wake (horror) and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (mystery) are both games that have atmospheric mist (or fog?).

I find fog so fucking scary, driving through that shit is *shudders*

so i agree, mist (and various other thick collections of suspended water) is immediately atmospheric.

It's pretty deliciously spooky.

While it's not throughout the *entire* movie, there are misty moments in 'The 13th Warrior' that are awesome and spooky (also a good movie).

Also 'The Fog', way back from 1980, spooky and atmospheric and really good.
