Same.

It's true and it's also hilarious how every new iteration talks about how it's going to be more serious

Don't agree about supporting characters tho, as Birds of Prey was great

I'm sick of superheroes in general

Agreed

Casting Rob Pattinson has actually gotten me curious enough to at least watch the new one. So I guess the stunt worked (since "HIM? Really? Okay, now I'm curious," is clearly what they were going for when they cast him).

I feel like they're going to try to make Batman a perpetually self-renewing property like James Bond. "New actor, new lease on life" seems to be the franchise MO they're aiming for. Hell, if this one is any good, they may actually succeed. *shrugs*

I don't really know how I feel about that.

Same. Batman has never been a favorite of mine. I much prefer Clark/Superman, but I've much preferred the tv takes of him to any of the movie takes. As far as I'm concerned, Marvel has done a much better job with movie adaptions than DC has with any of theirs.

Batman has been done to death, but I think there's still side stuff left to explore.

I wouldn't mind a Nightwing, in Blüdhaven, with only references to Batman, but no actual appearances. Maybe with some of the more uncommon movie enemies showing up like Man-Bat or Killer Croc.

Man, this. The very first movie was fun and different and then they just...nosedived. Grimmer and darker at ever 'new' iteration, same old boring origin story, same blah blah i have so much rich-guy angst, whatever.

DNW.

If any of them actually did anything interesting with it, that would be one thing, but every single one seems to follow the same old DARK and GRITTY and SERIOUS formula and it's just... so boring. I'm so bored of all of it.

If it's well done, I'll watch it!

It's when series (with the same characters and actors) keep going and going and there's been like five mediocre installments that try to build on the previous one (and fail) that I get tired of something. Transformers, I'm looking at you.

Same. See also Spiderman and, to a lesser extent, Superman.

That said, if they made movies that were more light-hearted, I'd be into it. I'm not joking at all when I say that the Batman movies of the ~90s are my favorite and I'm also shamefully fond of the old Adam West stuff too. As many others have said, not everything has to be grimdark grittiness and CGI. Have a little FUN!

I feel that way about Star Wars.

I feel like, after DKR, Batman has become their safety net after the flop that was the Superman and JL movies. So they are playing it safe.
