I totally get where you're coming from, this is something I left as a comment not in a secret submission thread and I probably wouldn't have submitted it as a secret. Not because it bothers me or anything, just that I agree that we've talked about it too much.

I had someone in mind at the time who seemed like they were really proud of not caring and it bugged me

AYRT: I am absolutely fine with people who are tired of, well, everything? taking a step (or a whole bunch of steps) away from the general flaming garbage fire that is this year*. Put on your own metaphorical oxygen mask before helping anyone else with theirs. Your mental, emotional, and physical health are important.
But I'm pretty sure - not dead certain, but pretty sure - that most of the people tweeting about how 'omigawd, no1 cares anymore, shut up about jkr already!' are in that state. They just don't want to be bothered by the knowledge that other people, uh, exist.
See also some of the comments in previous threads on this topic - the accusation that anyone who says they're bothered by Rowling's actions is really just being "performative", and they're faking outrage for kudos. Is that something you'd say? Hopefully not! Is that something some jackass who grew up thinking Cartman was a role-model would say?

At this point, how is instagramming yourself burning JKRs books helping trans people? It's clear that the window for change closed weeks ago. Her influence on my day-to-day safety as a trans person is marginal. So yeah, when I see allies spend the majority of their energy on perpetual JKR wank, I think their priorities are misplaced.

If that bothers you, I'll just point out that it's my health care, my safety in public, my family life, my rights in the criminal justice system, and my ability to make rent each month that are threatened on a daily basis here.
