When actors/actresses (whether they're in a canon relationship or not) have really good chemistry on screen and they have moments. You know the moments. The staring a bit too intensely or touching or just reacting to each other in interesting ways.

I need to write about that and explore it more.

It seems mostly innate; kinda like eating and sleeping. Just gotta do it for whatever reason.

Same. Not only innate, but almost compulsive. I have to create things. Even if it's just filling in a page in a coloring book.

I get really depressed and angry if I don't write. I'm not sure why. I just need the emotional catharsis of writing to feel good.

...having something else to do that I don't want to do. Or being in a lecture or a waiting room or similar. Those are my most creative times.

Procrastination and boredom are the best motivators.

1) A story itch I need scratched.

2) Spite.

3) A combo of ideas that won't leave me alone.

Add all three together is a tri-fecta and... that usually means I write a book or two or three. :D

Drawing is my main creative output when I'm happy.

Writing is my main creative output when I'm depressed, low or unhappy.

Despite my best efforts, apparently I can't do both at the same time. I haven't drawn in 15 years now. Go figure :/

A desire to please people and make them happy.

I just need to everyday. I feel as if I'm suffocating if I can't.

I wanna read it and I haven’t found it, so I’m gonna write it.

Spite

If something sparks a curiosity in me. Watching a film and liking a character, hearing a song and a story develops in my head, seeing a dish be prepared and wanting to make it myself, finding an every day problem that I might be able to DIY myself. It plays out in my head first, and after that I keep finding myself thinking about it or researching things related to it, and then it eventually turns into something. A fic I write, a dish I make, transforming my dish washing drain board into a useful drain board.

escapism, mostly. wanting to relive a better life than the one i've been given.

Definitely this for me too.

Boredom. If I have no other outlet, I will create my own
