Yeah I think a lot of it for me is like. Can I look at two people on screen, and does it seem like they really *react* to each other? Are they fascinated with each other, or delighted with each other, or nettled by each other, or things like that.

Yes, this exactly - do their interactions feel natural, do they get along well, are they comfortable around each other, etc. Can I easily imagine them as a couple, in other words.
