I’m pretty sure I would hate Hannah at least 25% less passionately if I didn’t find her so unattractive. I'd absolutely still dislike her, because I can't stand her personality. But the way she looks, and the way the character is styled to emphasize her unattractiveness, really intensifies my dislike.

Ever consider that her expressions piss you off? Like, the way she moves her face MAKES her uglier to you?

That is probably true. Also, the way the character is styled is a big part of it. They seem to deliberately style her to emphasize her unattractiveness, which feeds into my perception of the character as someone who doesn't think she should have to make an effort in order to achieve things, and seems to feel special and entitled in some way--one of those people that would probably tell someone, "if you don't appreciate me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best."

No, Hannah was genuinely one of the worst characters ever to grace a tv screen, all of them really. Allison Williams is conventionally attractive and her character was awful too.

I was only slightly put off by Marnie. But IDK if that's because she's beautiful, or simply because her bad qualities are just not the kind that bother me nearly as much, while Hannah's bad qualities are the type that get right under my skin in a second.

I did only watch S1 though, and then the last episode. So I probably would've ended up hating all the characters even more if I'd watched the whole thing.

As the show went on, Marnie became one of the worst by far, at least where I was concerned. Her scenes constantly infuriated me.
