Same...I like Reese's Pieces more than I do peanut butter cups.

They're harder to find, so I don't eat them as often, but...

OK so...

Either this secret is

1) made from a comment I made somewhere (if so, good job secret maker!),

2) a secret I made a million years ago and someone recycled it (no complaints), or

3) someone out there has the same opinions on peanut butter candy that I do! YOU ARE CORRECT BRAIN TWIN! LET US REJOICE IN OUR CORRECT OPINIONS!

It's recycled. It was originally posted on December 24th or 25th a few years ago. Just look at those dates in FS over the past few years and you'll find it. It's Secret #1.

I remember because I had a secret in that batch so I revisit it every so often.

I never got the appeal of Reese's pieces, either! It was always a disappointment to me when I was a kid and saw a bowlful of what I THOUGHT were M&Ms, only... bleah.

I've never seen ET because I had an irrational fear of aliens as a kid and then as an adult I just never sat down and went "I should watch ET."

I've never seen The Goonies either.

I've only ever seen E.T. once...and it was in Spanish, because we watched it in my high school Spanish class once for some reason.

I'll be the contrarian and say that I like Reese's Pieces more than Reese's Cups. Reese's Pieces are not so crumbly to me, and have a nice sweet flavor. When I hear Europeans discuss what they thought American peanut butter would taste like vs what it actually does, I think Reese's Pieces would be the version of peanut butter (sweeter than normal) that was expected.

Still, I think your reasons for not liking the film are valid, OP. Eat the candy that you enjoy!

Reese's Pieces are a very disappointing candy, but I still like ET because it's one of my mom's favorite movies and I have really nice memories of watching it with her and my dad multiple times.

Reese's Cups are definitely better than Reese's Pieces, but I'll still take Reese's Pieces over M&M's, Smarties, or whatever other small candy bits are out there.

...I think I may be the only one here that pictures the peanut butter cups when they hear "Reese's Pieces".

I'm not from the US and when I watched this movie we didn't have either M&Ms or Reese's Pieces (we still don't have the latter except in speciality shops) so I had no idea what the candy was. But years later, when M&Ms showed up, I assumed that was the E.T. candy and never realised differently until today! So much for advertising...

I'm severely allergic to peanuts so I was always a little bit off put by character who ate reese's candy and other peanut products when I was a kid.
