Re: Satisfying/Unsatisfying Endings

Satisfying: Lord of the Rings. Although on one level, Frodo passing on to the West is a bit of wish fulfillment, on another level it's been teased all along in the background.

Satisfying for the story: Transistor. Breaks my heart every time but it's one of the few possibilities that makes sense.

Unsatisfying: Return of the Jedi. I'm not opposed to a Ben Solo redemption, but realistically the trauma of multiple homicides and massacres is not something one can live through have the Disney Princess ending.
