That's fair.

Personally I still love Free! (at least the first two series - I couldn't get through the 3rd series and I'm content with pretending that it doesn't exist), but that's mostly because the Haru/Makoto ship was one of the ships that I really got into in the early days of the fandom - so I have a lot of good memories associated with it without having to witness the shitshow side of the fandom lol.
