The "live and let live" side of me wants to say you're being unfairly judgmental, but the realist side of me admits that I've literally never seen one of these that wasn't ooc, badly written, and pretty clearly the work of someone immature. I think it's mostly a teenager thing, baby's first fan fic or whatever. I just go with DLDR for em personally

I mean I thought that myself when I first made the comment, but specifying the 'only' made me more comfortable with saying it. (the being judgemental that is)

I definitely agree it's a teenager thing. I mean when I was that age myself, I had a few favourites that still persist today, but nothing that I've read in the last (literal) decade comes even the shortest bit close to the fanfictions I've loved in the past with the sameish tropes.
