I started watching free! because of the Tumblr hype about the Kyoto animation PV and the subsequent 'swimming anime' memes. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was a show that had heart.

It absolutely catered to fujos but it wasn't at a detriment to my viewing experience. I have no idea about seasons 2+3 though so i could be wrong.

Nowadays i have zero chill when it comes to certain tropes in anime. If it has a panty shot, I'm not watching. If it has a pervert character, I'm not watching. If it's obvious fujobait, I'm not watching.

It's like it all got turned to 11. There was an onslaught of male and female idol animes and harems and the older i get, the more skeevy i feel watching something that is most likely going to have an accidental boob grab scene in it.
