Anon have you considered looking into indie games where you get to play as magical creatures/regular creatures in a magical setting? I get the feeling those games might be more up your alley. Stuff like The First Tree or Secrets of Rætikon or something?

Do you have a favourite owl? One summer I looked up a bunch of owls to decide what kind I would want if I was at Hogwarts. I decided on a short eared owl but I love the tawny owl's tu-whoo call.
